I got paid with a pay check then they started paying me under the table..what do i do?
I started working for a salon on Oct. 2006. They were paying me every week with a paycheck. January 2007 comes and my boss decides to pay me and my other friend who works the front desk under the table and the only person who was going to get paid and Writing desk Table kept on the books was the girl who worked the front desk from 9am-3pm. She then told my friend and me that we’ll be getting more money that way cause we won’t be getting taxes taken out. Well my friend and i were younger so we didn’t really know any better so we thought that would be great. So we signed this paper saying we quit as of the end of Jan. I quit a month or so later but she is still doing this is it legal? Also she wrote me a letter telling me that she wasn’t going to give me my W2’s unless i paid her money that i owe her. I didn’t even know that i owe her money. She just now sent me a letter and it’s been about a year since i worked there. What should i do?
