Great quality, good design, and a little bigger than I had envisioned. The reason I took one star off is that the light from the included light bulb is extremely white, and it’s not easy to find replacements.

I bought two of these; and they work perfectly. They are designed with a swiveling shade. They are not designed to have the arm move up and down. In other words, this is a stationary lamp. Those who have tried to raise and lower the arm are stripping the screw. It’s not designed to be moved up and down. I particularly like the on/off button on the base as well as the extra electrical outlet in the back. I installed fluorescent light bulbs since incandescent bulbs get too hot. Perfect for my desk. http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000V77B4K/ref=oss_product

The globe works as advertised.
A negative is the top sphere is attached only with some thin plastic.
I had one fall over and break at the thin plastic.
When I glued it back together, it did not work right, so I bought a new one.

This is not one of my proudest moments, but I ordered this stool without looking at the dimensions. I don’t know what possessed me to do that, but I think it was that the picture makes it look fairly tall and, coupled with the fact that the stool is adjustable, I somehow became convinced that, at it’s tallest, the stool would be around the height of a typical bar stool. This is just a quick review to let you know that that is not the case. The stool is (as described) a fairly short stool. At it’s highest, it is a little taller than a normal chair, but only by an inch or two. All that said, it can be assembled in less than 10 minutes without any tools, is very sturdy, and is surprisingly comfortable – a factor both of the contour of the seat and the fact that the gas cylinder gives the seat a little bounce. My impression was that it would be a great idea for someone looking for a reasonably priced drum set stool, or perhaps less so, a good option for working in the driveway on
