I use a silicon mat with this tray, making it very useful for mealtime. Remove the mat and voile: it is a desk with convenient grooves for pencils and pens. The legs are hollow support pillars that create a space to store newspapers, magazines and the TV Guide. In addition, the central area of the tray tilts out to support books and magazines for optimum reading comfort. I like it a lot.

I have an antique “Drop Lid” Desk to sell, but don’t know how antique desk old, the “Name”, or value.Find Pics where?
Sugg’s where to find pics of old desks for description/value?

OMG…for the money I paid for this desk, it’s beautiful!!! It arrived earlier than I expected. It was easy to put together, time consuming but easy. I am very pleased!!

I bought an L shaped desk, and on one side of the “L”, there is a hutch. How do I decorate the hutch?
The room is almost a super pale yellow/linnen color with hard wood floors. The I have an iris and desk Hutch Newspaper some bamboo, a Live Laugh Love chinese picture, some books, and a green and white leaf pattern chair. The vibe is natural/hippy. I want to do something cool on top of the hutch that would add to the room but I dont know how to decorate this. Any suggestions? This is the desk. http://www.bushfurniture.com/bushindustries/thumbsbymodel/searchbymodel.jsp?id=&id2=CTE&id3=&id4=Citizen%20Executive

Compelling Tips On Desk Escritoire

We own our own business and operate from home. We spend 40 to 50 hours per week on the stuff and its over two years old now and it holding up very well. It stylish as well as fuctional. We have the “L” desk, hutch and 3 lateral filing cabintes…now 4!. We actually wanted a 4 drawer lateral which they dont offer. I took a new lateral, did not install the top and then added some wood strips around the top edge for a place to attach the top one to. I cut off 1.25″ from the bottom of one of our existing cabinets and plopped it right on top on the new one. It worked out fantastically and only took me three hours including the building of the new cabinet. I took the extra top and use a few L brackets and slid apart the other two cabintes and made an extra desk space for a second user in the office. It looks totally custom. Great buy for the money. If your interested in seeing a pic…post and I’ll add one to the site. Bush should offer a cabinet the way I made one, its awesome.

How far from the edge of the desk will the cylinder land on the floor?
Solid uniform cylinder rolls on the top of the desk withspeed desk Escritoire V = 1cm/s towards the edge of the desk, parrallel to the desk. There is no friction.Diameter of cylinder is D = 10 cm, and height of thedesk is H = 1 m. Acceleration g = 10 m/s².I meant “axis parallel to the edge”,not “parallel to the desk”.Sorry.

Should I buy this antique electric fan?
Okay, so there’s this local thrift shop that I go to that sells all kinds of wacky old things from fur coats to bakelite telephones, etc. In this case they’re selling an old desk fan that looks something like this:http://comps.fotosearch.com/comp/UNZ/UNZ237/antique-fan_~u10018064.jpgExcept it’s a little worse for wear and is a different brand (but still nice!). It’s $25 but it doesn’t seem to work, I got one of the employees to plug it in and test it out, but nothing happened, so we cranked it up to high, and the blades started to move a tiny bit… so I’m wondering- is it broken or is it just clogged up with 100 year old grease? I tried to spin the blades with antique desk Fan my finger (when it was unplugged of course!) and they were really sticky, and didn’t really turn… so I guess maybe if I were to soak it in WD-40? Of course if I bought it I’d rewire it too. I’m torn, if it really IS the motor and it needs to be “rewound” or whatever they say- then there’s nothing I can do. I wouldn’t mind but I’m short on cash this week as I have some previous financial obligations, and the inventory in this store seems to change with the weather… but I HAVE always wanted one! I don’t want to end up with a giant paperweight either.Oh, what do I do?-Thanks.Update:Okay so I haven’t been back there yet, but I’d just like to point out that I *DO* intend to try and fix it up so I can actually use it as a regular appliance, I’m not concerned with safety as I have no intention of sticking my fingers in a fan (the modern plastic ones are nearly as unsafe, you can stick your fingers in a box fan from walmart if you really want to) also there are no children in my household. And also I *DON’T* want to just buy a new fan, as the kinds of fans they sell nowadays are cheap junk from China. I collect antique home things, and I’m perfectly content with using a fan like this (there was one like this in the house when my mom was a kid, and she still has all her fingers!) But back to my main question: Do you think it’ll work/be fixable? Has anyone had any problems like this in the past?

Acquire Desk Sligh

17 August 2010
secretary-desk-furniture Acquire desk Sligh

I bought two of these desk systems for my daughters. My home office has an earlier revision of this desk+hutch system (the hutch has a back cork board which I wish they had again) and it is a tremendous value. Easy to assemble with spare parts “just in case”. I always buy natural wood furnishing because it actually looks better with a few bumps and age (vs particle board which looks horrible anyway). Usually, the wood styles are more expensive but this is very affordable. I recommend highly.

Where can I find pictures of office desk arrangements?
I am going to buy office desk for my office. And I would like desk Sligh to get ideas for my new desk at home. Some people use a modern decor, others use wood themes or plastic trays. I am also looking for homemade bulletin boards and pencil jars. Is there a place to get ideas for my own desk? Thanks!
