I use a silicon mat with this tray, making it very useful for mealtime. Remove the mat and voile: it is a desk with convenient grooves for pencils and pens. The legs are hollow support pillars that create a space to store newspapers, magazines and the TV Guide. In addition, the central area of the tray tilts out to support books and magazines for optimum reading comfort. I like it a lot.

How can I stop fighting with my mother without giving in all the way?
Recently we’ve been fighting like everyday or the stupidest things. For instance we are redoing my room (which is rather small) and I have all of this furniture in it which she picked out from when I was a baby. There’s not enough room for all the furniture so the only thing that can antique furniture desks really just go into another room is this large antique (and ugly) vanity. The logical thing would be to get rid of it in order to get a much smaller desk but my mother will NOT let me put it in another room- even my father agrees with me. We got into the huge fight over it and of-course she won. I’m trying to get over it but I just can’t. It’s so annoying how she wins every single argument we have with threatening to take something away. That was just an example. We fight about what she says (she doesn’t remember saying things and then contradicts herself- mental disorder perhaps? :/ ) and other things along those lines.I guess I just have to continue doing homework on the floor…Any advice?

Directory Of Helpful Reviews On Desk Amercian Victorian

antique-furniture-desks Directory of helpful reviews on desk Amercian Victorian

We own our own business and operate from home. We spend 40 to 50 hours per week on the stuff and its over two years old now and it holding up very well. It stylish as well as fuctional. We have the “L” desk, hutch and 3 lateral filing cabintes…now 4!. We actually wanted a 4 drawer lateral which they dont offer. I took a new lateral, did not install the top and then added some wood strips around the top edge for a place to attach the top one to. I cut off 1.25″ from the bottom of one of our existing cabinets and plopped it right on top on the new one. It worked out fantastically and only took me three hours including the building of the new cabinet. I took the extra top and use a few L brackets and slid apart the other two cabintes and made an extra desk space for a second user in the office. It looks totally custom. Great buy for the money. If your interested in seeing a pic…post and I’ll add one to the site. Bush should offer a cabinet the way I made one, its awesome.

How forgetful are you? ?

I looked for a few weeks for a desk and found this – the bookcase that comes with it seemed to be an added bonus.Be warned – the picture DOES NOT show what parts are metal and what parts are wood. I thought the entire thing would be “metal and wood” as described… it’s not “wood”, it’s particle board and falls apart very easily. Upon opening the first thing I noticed is that all of the flat surfaces are made of particle board covered with some type of material that almost feels like cheap plastic laminated coating. It chips very easily. The upside to this is that if you want, you can put some wood putty on the ding, gently sand it down and cover it with black permanent marker if needed. The legs (the silver parts) are made of metal. The shelves are made of the plastic covered particle board and the little brackets are made of plastic. If you do get this desk, be careful about the little predrilled holes – some of them seem to not be centered. The desk arrived later than stated (we
