Meaningful Guide On Desk Manufactured
21 June 2010

I bought two of these desk systems for my daughters. My home office has an earlier revision of this desk+hutch system (the hutch has a back cork board which I wish they had again) and it is a tremendous value. Easy to assemble with spare parts “just in case”. I always buy natural wood furnishing because it actually looks better with a few bumps and age (vs particle board which looks horrible anyway). Usually, the wood styles are more expensive but this is very affordable. I recommend highly.
Where can I get a custom aluminum desk made?
I want to have a custom made aluminum desk manufactured for my home desk Manufactured office. Ideally would like it to look like the lian li f1 series of computer desks (but cost much less than the $4000 price tag). Instruction on how to go about getting the parts cut and fabricated would be appreciated.

I actually purchased this desk directly from [...] (through Amazon.com) because it was about $20.00 cheaper. The desk is pretty solid and enough space for all of my computer peripherals and more. It took a little over an hour to assemble myself, but would have likely easier with an additional pair if hands.
I was worried that the bolts would be cheap aluminum, as I have experienced with other desks, but to my surprise everything was solid.
This computer table was much better than I expected. Nice stainless steel hardware, easy to assemble and very sturdy. I was very pleased with the overall quality and value.
This desk looks great and has alot of desktop space. Just received it last night and it was very easy to install. Took me over 3 hours but I was doing it by myself and decided not to use an electric screwdriver to prevent overtightened screws or damages, yes call me cautious
Anyway, the thing that impressed me from beginning to end for the installation was the well packaged parts and especially very well-labeled parts leading to major ease of installation. The instruction manual is very well-detailed and points out exactly which part number and screw number to use at each step. Very idiot-proof in my opinion. All pieces arrived in great condition. The keyboard plank had a minor scratch on the rear surface but nothing to really upset me about. One screw did not have its head indented properly so I couldn’t use the Phillips screwdriver but thank goodness a bag of spare screws was included for each of the approximate 8 screw types. This is a nice luxury I rarely see other manufacturers provide.
My only other gripes about this desk are that:
1) The corner surface’s single straight leg support seems to fall a little short. Maybe it’s my uneven floorboards but I had to untwist the leveling wheel to its maximum support distance.
2) The 4 front legs also tend to be a bit sharp. During shipment they are covered by a black plastic sheath/protector. I usually wear slippers at home but I plan to drill holes into the sheaths and re-insert them before screwing the circular feet back in so that I would not accidentally cut my toes or feet when moving about at the desk. They should have made the plastic sheaths gray with openings at the bottom to let use simply attach the table feet right into the legs.
All in all still an excellent product and willing to give it 5 stars.
Great desk for the money! Took longer than expected to assemble, mostly because the screws were not a perfect fit at times–some fiddling was required. But overall, nice design and excellent price.
Moving into an apartment after college and starting grad school, I needed a desk that allowed me to have my iMac/keyboard/mouse all accessible while also having a textbook and notebook open, and this desk definitely provides enough space for that. As to it being too short for adults, I’m a 5′6 female and find it a very comfortable height with my adjustable office chair – there’s probably 4″ between my knees and the keyboard tray. So enough work space? Check. Enough leg-room? Check.
Okay, so this thing was kinda a bear to put together, but definitely doable. I did it all by myself in about an hour – and that was including having to undo a couple of pieces that I put on upside down or backwards. FYI, the corner piece goes with the suction cup brackets on the top, not the bottom, and double check that the thicker piece of the legs is running front to back from top to bottom, otherwise you’ll end up with the cross support on your shins!
My ONLY complaint with the desk (besides the instructions being a little vague as to directionality of pieces) is that when I went to assemble the keyboard tray, the glass would not fit into the frame. It was about a millimeter or so off, just enough that the glass wouldn’t sit down in the frame. I finally got out the hammer and banged the insides of the frame down a bit on either side and the glass popped right in.
Overall a very good desk, and for the price with free shipping, you really can’t beat it if you’re looking for a desk with lots of work space on a budget.
P.S. Asthetically, the silver and glass combination looks wonderfully sleek with an aluminum iMac or MacBook….
While it took me much longer than anticipated (directions could be more detailed) to put this item together, it has been just wanted we wanted. It was purchased to give my daughter somewhere to do her hair and face separate from the bathroom , we only have one. The glass makes it blend well with the room and not intrusive. Overall very pleased with the purchase, timing was good to as we see the price has gone up since our purchase.
When my desk arrived to my home. I noticed that I was missing all of the hardware which I got sent out to me fairly quickly. Once I started putting the desk together, I noticed that I was missing the support frame for the tray. I requested this item and they sent me the regular frame tray (which now I have two of). I am waiting to see if they will send out the correct part that I am missing. They asked me if I would send them a picture of the part that they sent me and I was unable to do so at the present time. The desk itself (minus that tray) works quite well. Very sturdy and I am enjoying it…unfortunately I will never buy from this manufactorer again.
I love the look of this computer desk – especially with the additional hutch added. So, if you are going for looks and don’t plan on using it at all – go for it.
PROS:
Attractive aesthetic features
CONS:
EXTREMELY easy to scratch any of the surfaces
Time consuming to assemble (I did both the hutch and desk at the same time – took 6 hours by my self)
Plastic “locks” on front keyboard drawer broke after 6 weeks of use (they keep the panel with the aesthetic handles up when not in use)
Not ideal for larger computer towers
Difficult to reach back of computer tower
Definitely not a good choice if you have small children who use the computer. Even for frequent adult users, the quality just isn’t there. I rarely regret my purchases, but this one is one I wish I had never ever made. Poor quality to invest your money in. Ah, but then, you get what you pay for. Pity … it looks so nice from a distance.
I have been a customer of amazon for everything I buy on net for a long time but this piece of junk
has made me think that I lucked out
This was the worst purchase, advertisement that its cherry is false and its mainly compressed wood except the table top
the desk is unstable and rips apart despite providing steel support on each side
I dont think it can even stand the weight of the cpu
sorry amazon I got tricked and so are the others
deepak
This is junk. I am so tired of putting new screws in this desk to keep it from leaning to the right or the left. Yes, the bolts are well tightened, yet it is so cheaply made, they don’t hold the desk straight. The draws get stuck every five minutes. I am going to have to tear this apart to dispose of it so I can get a new desk. Bad, bad quality.
The desk is sturdy and stylish. It comes in pieces and assembles easily. The fasteners are packaged by group and clearly labeled. I had one piece that was broken but I glued it back together and fastened to the keyboard drawer as-is without any problems. The drawer on the left is pretty small. The door on the left should hold a full size tower without problems. I have an iMac, so did not need to hide a tower. I use this space for storage using old Amazon.com shipping boxes to organize things.
There is a foot helf on the bottom. I put my power strip, external HDD, and some packaged software down there out of the way.
The keyboard drawer is a nice size. It holds a slim keyboard and a mouse with pad nicely. There is even a little room for a scratch pad behind the keyboard.
This desk, although extremely inexpensive, is such poor quality that I do not feel comfortable even putting a computer monitor on it. It is wobbly and if a light wind were to blow through it would most definitely fall over. For $10 more at staples there is a similar desk of extremely high quality for its price that is a much better choice.
Needed a computer set up in a pretty small space. This is not a permanent space/solution, but it works great for now. Not the sturdiest and would not choose to keep for a permanent placement, but for the year or so I need it, the size is perfect. Easy to assemble. Little wobbly, but works for now.
This is a great computer stand. It holds a lot of weight on the top table. I put my laptop, recording equipment, a mixer, a lamp, and sometimes even a plate of food on it and it all fits. The bottom table is just as study. Mine is a little squeaky sometimes coming from somewhere on the inside of one of the legs. Other than that, you can’t beat this price.
The desk is a basic, small computer desk. It was edelivered weel within the time allotted and serves its purpose.
Only gave 3 stars because it is not a high end desk nor is the price. Product is just as I expected. Took about 40 minutes to assemble, not very hard.
