   I build automobile and railroad models as a hobby. I have a circular fluorescent magnifying lamp, but at my age I needed some extra lighting to augment what I had. At age 69 I welcome it. This excellent desk lamp has filled the bill with nice white ambient lighting. It is attractive, not too big, adjustable and doesn’t take up a lot of room on my work table. The base is heavy enough so the lamp is stable and doesn’t tip over. Simple assembly consists of just plugging the fluorescent tube into the lamp’s socket. Very happy with it and the price was right. Entire purchase transaction was perfect for me.

   This desk lamp works very well, and provides exactly the atmosphere I need when working at my desk. The price is far less than its near identical competitors. I feel I made an excellent purchase decision.

   I bought this desk for my mother whose left arm is paralyzed from a brain injury. I was hoping this would help her be able to read her books and use her laptop. It was for her 60th birthday. The box arrived and everything looked fine until I opened it. The actual desk’s box looked fine but the styrofoam packing molds were all broken and the hinge on the desk was missing it’s pin. The wood was scratched and it looked awful. My dad fixed the hinge issue with a paperclip but overall it was a disappointing purchase. I would strongly recommend not buying any products from this seller.

   The desk finally came and it was damaged. The hinge couldn’t hold on to the cheap plywood it was glued to. And the middle of the lap portion was almost ripped in two. OK things happen. I called the company and emailed them pictures the day I received it. I was told to discard it and asked whether I would like a refund or replacement. Naturally, I chose a refund and was told on Feb. 11 that I would receive it 1-2 business weeks later. The time passed. I called and I was told it was coming. Now it has been a full month since I was promised my refund and I called. They passed me around from department to department. I have had it. I’m not upset that it was damaged what burnt my biscuits is the fact that after they didn’t deliver the product as described they are trying not to give me back my money. To add injury to insult they are giving me the run around. I suggest if anyone gets the crazy idea to purchase anything from them go to the junkyard and find something close enough to what you want and that would be of better quality than the product and service you would receive from Stacks and Stacks.

   This “desk” is crapola. You can get a much nicer wood one for the same price at Borders. Even their plastic ones are better and cheaper.

   This product is very poor quality and construction, and the photo representations are misleading. In addition to that if I want to return the item I would end up with a refund around $1.00 after the restocking fee and shipping are deducted. The retail business ain’t what it used to be.
