I use a silicon mat with this tray, making it very useful for mealtime. Remove the mat and voile: it is a desk with convenient grooves for pencils and pens. The legs are hollow support pillars that create a space to store newspapers, magazines and the TV Guide. In addition, the central area of the tray tilts out to support books and magazines for optimum reading comfort. I like it a lot.

Laptop Notebook Cooling Pad That’s Comfortable??
Which laptop cooling pad is actually *comfortable* Lap desk Solid on the lap?All the pads I’ve seen, and used, are made for a desk… like the underside isn’t solid – so when you put it on your lap, it digs into your legs or feels so uncomfortable – not fun :/

  1. Well, since we just got these bed table/desks, we really can’t say how they’ll hold up, but they seem to be sturdily built and are intelligently designed. There’s even a groove on the top to keep pens or pencils in. They fit comfortably over our legs — and my husband is a big man. The top can lie flat for eating or to put your laptop on, or it can be tilted easily and with stability for reading or hand writing. Everything is finished smoothly. No rough spots. For the price, they’re amazing.

  2. First, it arrived very quickly and was in perfect condition. There were no scratches, cracks, etc. and the walnut finish is really lovely. Also, there was no assembly required – a definite plus, for me.

I bought this table while I was looking after my mother, who recently had spinal surgery. For the first couple of weeks she spent most of her time in bed, and this table made the world of difference. With a neck brace on, she had limited mobility to look down, so the adjustable shelf was perfect for bringing things closer to her. While raised, it easily supported her reading materials and also her laptop, so the screen was eye-level.

The side compartments are great for storage, though the slats are very wide. We made liners for the interior and that minor problem was solved. She kept her knitting on one side and books and magazines on the other. It made my job easier, since all I really had to do was move the table either on the bed or off — no searching around for the bag of crafts and then the books and pens, etc., etc. Everything was right there and ready to go. Also, for meals we would just lower the shelf back down.

I am extremely pleased with this product – it really was a great find! Functional and aesthetically pleasing.

  3. The shipping on this item took longer than expected but it is very sturdy and has plenty of room. The tilt feature is a good idea but there are only two settings. I have a 13″ macbook that fits perfectly but I would not recommend this for anything larger than that.

  4. I am often bed-bound. This desk has been very useful to me. It supports an average-sized laptop, even when the desk part is elevated. I like this feature because I can type while looking at a screen that is almost eye level. And in the meantime, I am not straining my neck. It also keeps the laptop weight off of my lap.
It is very sturdy. I have used it as a dinner table, as a writing surface, and as already mentioned a laptop table.
I don’t find the side baskets very useful. If you put books in it, the desk becomes too heavy to manage. It can be cumbersome to move around in bed. And it does not collapse, so it takes up some space in the bedroom. But, I sewed a cover for it that matches my bedding and it goes well in my bedroom.
There is plenty of leg-room to maneuver without feeling constrained.
Overall, I am very happy with this tray and would purchase it again.
