  1. The long-legged frog is made of great fabric with lots of texture. His mouth is mobile, but so are his arms. You can make him clap or wave, etc. The kids really enjoy this one.

  2. I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not 100% experienced with USB hubs so maybe I’m missing something, but after a period of inactivity this hub seems to go into hibernation. I generally keep at least one flash drive and my Bamboo tablet plugged in to it and sometimes I have to unplug and replug the hub into one of my computer’s USB ports. Could be Vista’s fault, or maybe something else, but this quirk can be annoying.

Having said that, though, it’s really a good looking add-on, so all in all I guess I’m satisfied with it.

  3. 1) The item description shows the hub legs held in various positions. Mine doesn’t do this. The legs flop around at will. I don’t know if this particular one is defective, or all of them are like this (except, of course, the one in the web site photo!).

    2) One hub does not work. Three-Out-Of-Four ain’t so bad when buying lottery tickets, but it’s not acceptable here.

    3) Here’s the Big Complaint: If one USB item is plugged in and a second one is plugged into the hub, the previously connected item is summarily disconnected from the computer.
“So What’s The Big Deal?” you may ask: If a data device, such as an external hard drive or USB “Thumb” drive is attached and is improperly disconnected- the data may be damaged or lost. I had two “Thumb” drives and a memory card (via a USB reader) from a camera corrupted, simply by plugging in an additional item to this hub. This happened in both Mac OSX and Windows XP Pro.
I am glad I had extra back ups of the “Thumb” drive data and that the camera memory card had no Pulitzer Prize winning photographs on it. I’m also very happy I didn’t plug in my printer only to have the hub blow its brains out.
Another problem with impromptu disconnections of USB devices is that WIndows has yet another excuse to pop up a dialog box complaining about something you just did!

    4) This isn’t advertised on the web site, but the item’s package brags about it being a “Powered” hub and states it includes the Power Adapter. It isn’t & it doesn’t. Ten bucks? I wouldn’t expect it to be!

Again, I don’t know if mine was defective or if they all are this way. I would advise writing the manufacturer for clarification before purchase. If mine was simply a defect- I would still be impressed with this design because it leaves lots of room between ports and is quite configurable for easy access (if the legs actually work like the photo shows). I also think the price, if it works as advertised, is very fair.
