I bought this item for a gift for my girlfriend. I didnt even touch it when it came. i opened the box and set the item (still packaged up) on a shelf. when i gave it to her we noticed that it was cracked and broke by the cupholder. the item is good and worth the money you pay for it. but you better be sure that the shipper or postal doesnt break it!

is she calling me out?or was this just her way of saying ” i dont care”?my indoor/outdoor cat likes to jump into my lap, then onto the computer desk and onto the dryer, where she sleeps. this puts her even with my face and about 2′ from me.she comes in from outside with muddy paws. she is a long hair and loves to walk through, and sit in, mud. she left a muddy paw School Lap desk print on my leg when she jumped up on her way to the dryer, when i turned to scold her, she was sitting facing me and washing her front paw.she didnt even look at me, just flicked her paw in my face, sending mud into my face, hit the computer screen and i even heard a sower of dirt go over my head and land on the papers on the other side of me.then she went back to washing her paw.i think she wants me to meet her behind the couch after school.what was the movie ? “cats and dogs” was it ? with the Russian that coughed up the bomb like a hair ball and the parachuting ninja assassin Siamese cats? i think my cat is a cat terrorist.whats so odd about having a computer next to your dryer?although, i am a single guy and we do things that annoy women. so , maybe you are right, it is odd.maybe it is a guy thing

I bought this as a Christmas present for my niece. The design is so cute. Seems to be good quality and durable but lightweight. Just wish it would’ve had a pencil slot.
This lap desk is brilliant. It is made to a high standard and looks decent enough to be presented as a gift. It is also comfortable to use, the finish is lovely, as is the interior design. I am glad that I purchased it, although I did so from B&N as it was only $40 ($10 less, plus $5 for shipping). I expect it will last- great find.
Very comfortable lap desk. The cushion is soft but offers a lot of support. There’s also a lot of storage space inside. Very sturdy, a little bit heavy, but this isn’t terribly bothersome. Unlike some desks, there is enough surface area to rest your arms and use it as a writing surface. I also like to use it for my laptop computer when it gets too hot for my lap. Be careful how you store it, as the wood scratches easily. Overall, great desk!
I was a bit worried after I placed the order seeing that the last reviews before me were over a year old. However, I’m happy to say that I received this item as described and am extremely pleased with it!
The desk looks exactly as it does in the picture. It’s well-made inside and out. The storage area is divided into 2 areas (left and right). The left storage area is good for pens, pencils, highlighters.. things of that sort. It’s big enough to store my Olympus DS-40 digital voice recorder. The right storage side allows for bigger items. I like to store my textbook that I’m currently reading. You can probably store things that are smaller than a 1″ regular binder (which my textbook is). The Lap Desk is comfortable – the cushion is also well-made. They didn’t skimp on the little tiny balls, which the cushion is made up of (I have no idea what they’re called) which is nice because my lap is never exposed to the hard surface.
Overall, I recommend this product.
The lap desk is very nice. The quality is high in appearance and construction. The insides are nice and the “pool table” felt both looks good and feels good. The size is large enough to have a good work surface without being overlarge. Insides are large enough for the normal things that you would think of putting in there. It is perfect for use when writing or reading.
I use mine as a computer laptop desk. For this it has a couple drawbacks. It is a little too thick. My laptop is too high to type comfortably on. I can do it. It is just not comfortable. Also, my laptop has lost the little rubber feet on the bottom. This make it slide easily on the desktop. My wife has a lap desk and it has a small rectangular piece of wood attached to it along one edge. I suspect it is for a pencil stop and I suspect I have the desk reversed. But it does work well for keeping the computer on the desk:)
Anyway. I am happy with the purchase and have ordered new rubber feet for my laptop.
This is a fun little lap desk, very light weight. Acutally, it is more light weight than expected as the top is formed plastic about 1/8″ thick. The glass holder is deep enough to hold a beverage securely. The surface does not lend itself well when using the laser type mouse however.
Over all, I would have been 100% satisfied for about $10 less.
