The desk itself is perfect for what we wanted: clean and functional design. The packaging, however, was inadequate. The carton had busted during shipping with the result that a couple of pieces had fallen out and two edges were nicked. The construction was simple enough that we could find replacement parts in our stash of screws and knobs, and the nicks weren’t so bad as to warrant the hassle of returning the piece … but really, shipping shouldn’t be all that difficult.

Good morning/afternoon fellow intermediate students and teachers. If you don’t already know me I’m Joanna (last name) in grade eight running for the position of student council Secretary. Before I state my plans for the year, if elected student council secretary, I will tell you a bit about myself. I have been attending St. Vincent de Paul School since kindergarten. Academically I am a good student and I am very co-operative and capable of working with different groups and people. I have good hand-writing and am good at taking notes. I am also organized and open to hear different ideas to making this school year a great one. A few words to describe me are: hard working, Writing Secretary desk reliable, organized, and determined. This year I know that our principal Mrs.Schnieder is trying to make our school “green”; a healthy and eco-friendly school. We could have a “Green Day” and to represent the school, students could bring liter less and healthy lunches and wear or bring items (such as a green t-shirt or an apple for the desk) to show how green our school is. As well, which I know was a great hit last year is Pajama Day. We could have a pajama day and each student could bring in two dollars to support our school for the cost of school trips, scientist in the school, clubs (such as “The Whale Savers”) and different school activities. I also know that this school does not have many dances but again, a big hit last year, is a Halloween dance. Again, students could pay a minimum cost of two dollars as an entry fee to support the school funds. As I stated before I am open to hear different ideas. I understand that some people have ideas that they want to be shared but are sometimes afraid to tell the student council. I honestly find it easier to share my ideas through letters or e-mail so that I have time to think. If you have an idea for our student council but don’t want to come to us in person to share your idea, you can always e-mail or Facebook me and if desired, I will share your idea anonymously. I know that we all want to make this year one of the best and I am motivated to make that happen. I appreciate your time and hopefully your vote!

I did not open the box for a couple of weeks. Then when I did, I was so dissappointed to find that the front panel was broken. The part borken was part of the facing which would help support the pullout that holds the keyboard.
I did like the color and quality of wood but you can imagine the anquish of trying to put together the big cardboard shipping box or wood glue and screw support pieces to the table. It came out alright but I would seriously reconsider ordering a piece of furniture on line again.
