Free Useful Hints On Vintage Midcentury Desk

I rarely write reviews and I’m quite difficult to please. The Solo Vintage Collection Backpack, however, is a superior product and worthy of my time to critique. The first day I carried the pack to work, one of my employees said “Good Morning, nice backpack.” Leather usually adds an unmistakable look of quality and craftsmanship to most products. There are also very few leather backpacks available for purchase. The number of compartments and the thickness of the straps make this backpack one of the best that I have seen or owned. Some reviewers don’t like the interior color – to each his own. I think the color is fine and of little consequence when you consider the quality of the product.
The clothes I sell are like works of art, with Vintage Midcentury desk A LOT of attention paid to details. It seems that, in general folks from the days-gone-by, paid more attention to what they wore and how they presented themselves. Would you consider wearing vintage clothes from a different era? Perfect fit for the Toshiba NB205 series – even with the battery attached! There’s even some wiggle room. Front pocket has zipper and plenty of room for ac adapter, mouse, etc. Plus, it’s cute.
It doesn’t have a lot of padding, but it provides enough protection for what I need.
I undertook quite a search when I needed to replace my aging laptop backpack. I’m a fan of brown leather, and this Solo bag was one of very few options available. I decided to order it and was not disappointed.
First things first: the “Kingfisher Blue” interior is NOT as bright as the photos seen on Amazon. It is a much more natural, muted shade of blue. Look at the photos on the manufacturer’s site for a better representation.
The leather used to make the majority of the bag is excellent. It is a rugged, masculine leather that will show wear and gain “character” over time. The panel that faces the wearer’s back is breathable nylon of the same color.
The interior is spacious and offers just the right amount of organization for my needs. My MacBook rides in the laptop compartment, and one of the front compartments features pockets that hold my power adapter and wireless mouse comfortably. There’s also a zipper pouch that holds a variety of cables and adapters, and an exterior pocket that holds a couple of quick-access items.
In the center pocket, I usually carry a binder, two notebooks, and two textbooks. This bag is big, as another reviewer mentioned, and it is capable of sitting upright on its own due to the large flat bottom panel.
This is a very unique bag with a lot of character. Other than a few minor details I might have designed differently, I think this bag is fantastic.
I searched this bag all over the internet. Prices were unbelievable. A lot of places had it at double the price I paid here at Amazon. I ordered it on a Sunday night and got it Tuesday morning (and that was with the free shipping). The leather is rustic and beautiful. I like that it has nail studs at the stress points. Really stylish yet rugged looking. More room than I thought I would get. Lots of compartments. Everybody’s complaining about the blue interior but it’s not as super bright as the images shown. Besides that, who cares as long as it wasn’t bright pink! I’m very happy with it. I hope it lasts a long time as I used to use a canvas backpack that lasted 5 or 6 years until the zippers gave out. I wish they had another version of the same bag without the laptop compartment as I don’t carry a computer and don’t need the extra space. Overall, I am happy with the Solo Vintage Collection Backpack and have gotten good compliments on it.
I do like the overall look and feel of this product; quite snazzy in fact. Small, but not too small; large but not too large.
However, there is one lingering question that needs an answer, as well as a genuine usability issue that must be reported.
The question first. Is the material really leather?? It certainly looks like it, but somehow I have lingering doubts that perhaps the company can clear up. There is no use of the word ‘leather’ in describing the article, although some reviewers have assumed so, and it is on that basis that I purchased it. I ask because there is no ’smell’ of real leather at all, and a bit of an artificial ‘feel’ to it. All seams are also cleverly sealed with a soft something that looks like a pvc moulding, so it’s impossible to look ‘under’ the material unless of course one cuts up the bag.
The usability issue is that the underside of the back straps are not made of the same material as the outside. In fact, it is a kind of a synthetic ‘nylon’ or polyester type material that tends to slip when on the shoulder, especially if one carries the bag on a single shoulder as most are apt to do today. I would suggest that the company consider refining this by replacing the current material with something more ‘non-slip’.
I purchased this pack for my husband who travels worldwide for his job. The quality is exceptional and it holds more than expected. After a year it still looks new and shows no wear. Highly recommended!
