Data On Steel Tanker Desk

not “easy assembly, or ready to use.” I wish I had known it would involve pliers ( those that can cut ) to make them fit the cabinets. Fortunately I had a set handy, but again, need a fair amount of strength to make the cut to allow these to work in standard cabinets.

I don’t know why steel rules aren’t more popular. The problem with plastic rules is that they can get broken or the edges get dented. Steel doesn’t, and it lasts for ever. I actually appropriated mine from my father and it’s kept it’s edge for years. It doesn’t break or warp and it’s the only ruler I use. Plus, I often need to cut paper with an craft knife and a steel ruler is the only kind you can use for that kind of work. Spend a little more, get a steel ruler and it can literally last you for ever.
This is a Real Ruler. It will last and it will be accurate. It will not yield to an Xacto knife.
My 11-year-old daughter was getting burned out on plastic rulers that slipped and broke. I bought her this because 18 inches is long enough for almost any craft project she does, she can cut against the edge, and its very easy to make accurate measurements. The lines are finely engraved and filled with black paint, making them quite visible and easy to measure or cut against. For extremely accurate measurements, use an xacto knife perpendicular to the ruler to cut a short line on the piece. Just pivot the xacto blade in the engraved lines on the ruler. When you cut or slide a scribe or pencil to these cuts, you can feel them.
Great value, great performance, five stars.
this ruler looks to fit the bill for what i need. metric + imperial measurements (inches and centimeters). sturdy. metal. very legible lettering/numbering that will not rub off. good price.
I thought this KD-7000 food scale is promoting the 1 gramm precision as a gimmick, but hey, it’s true. I did weigh a piece of waxed paper thinking that it is too light to tip the balance. But no, it displayed 2 gramms. I didn’t know that the paper is still heavy.
I did not own precise/standardized weights to verify it’s precision but you can do it easily with several random objects.
For example, I took 3 apple fruits and weighted them one by one, noting down each weight. I Add their weights together.
Now I put all 3 apples on the scale and weighed them together this time. A precise balance will show the total measured weight matching exactly the summ of computed individual apples weights.
In my test I found that the total weight fell exactly on the computed summ of all apples’ weights.
Just amazing ! Just make sure to place the scale on a perfectly flat counter or surface and it works fine. The “tare” feature is very nice, the scale knows how to extract the container weight having the food place inside it when you hit TARE button. This way you get only the food weight every time. Please also note that it is important to have fresh batteries in it, just in case if those coming with the scale could having been stored for too long. The scale has an automatic shut-off so the batteries will last for a long time.
Switch from different displays (such as gramms only or gramm and kilos) to ounces or ounces and pounds. I don’t know how this food scale does it but it does just great. This is our first digital food scale and I am very satisfied. I am sure there are pther good scales but this one works perfectly for me. Just do the test described above and if it pass it, you have a fine scale. I like the blue display for some reason, is very pleasant and easy on your eyes. Buy it and enjoy it.
This scale works pretty well, although I was weighing some chocolate for making truffles this Christmas, and the weight on the scale did not match the weight printed on the label for the chocolate.I do not like the plastic cover, as you have to lift it to push the button to turn it on.
I’m a constant home baker, and I needed a new scale, so I picked this one because the specs looked pretty good and it was a decent price. So, I take it out of the package, I’m looking at it, pull up the plastic cover and it breaks off. Not a great start, but hey, I didn’t really need the cover anyway and maybe it was just my fault. Also once you get it in person, you realize that almost the whole thing is made out of cheap plastic. The picture they have makes it look metallic and shiny, but no, it’s plastic and feels like it would shatter into pieces if you ever dropped it. And the stainless steel top piece is only a thin piece of metal over more cheap plastic. But my real problem came when I tested it out. No matter how heavy the thing you’re weighing, it’s almost always wildly inaccurate. When I measure ounces, it’s easily off by 3-4. When I measure pounds, it’s still off by 2-3 pounds. Simply lifting up the item and re-placing it in the same spot can wildly change the weight. And if you move it into a different spot on the scale, once again, wildly different results. After a couple of tries I’ve found this ugly paperweight to be completely useless for any kind of cooking, compared to the much more accurate option of simply guessing.
I bought this product because I wanted something that I could use to weigh my food intake and also for cooking purposes. I also thought if I was going to spend $30-$40 on a scale I would look at what amazon had to offer instead of just buying a scale at Target or some place. I am happy with this scale because it measures up to 15lb and displays in metric scale as well, whereas department store scales may only go up to 3lbs. It also has a calibration feature that I have yet to mess with, however, it seems a little sketchy to use only one mass to calibrate this machine. A minimum of two masses should have been used to get the linear relationship between the different masses that you would measure. I do work in a calibration lab but not one that calibrates masses so I could be wrong about the number of points you would need for an accurate mass measurement (i.e. don’t quote me).
My only real issue with the product is that on the picture the base looks like a heavy, sturdy structure, which you might think is close to the weight of a small dense book. However, the base is actually a light plastic that may seem somewhat flimsy but is relatively durable as long as you don’t hit it with anything too hard. Other than that the product works great, it is made in China if that matters to you, and the stainless steal is solid but a little hard to get completely shiny again if you spill on it.
All-in-all I am happy with this product and would buy it again if I had to do it all over. I even saw that some people buy this for making soap, which I think I might try (perhaps while watching Fight Club).
I’ve been using the stainless steel pen for a few weeks now and like how it writes. It’s not something that I use for everyday things like taking notes, but it’s nice for more special occasion writing like signing cards, writing labels, etc. I haven’t noticed the unscrewing of the barrel that the other reviews mention, but maybe it’s a difference in writing styles? One thing I do like is that it doesn’t smear, which can be a big problem for lefthanders. All in all, it’s a nice pen and I love its sleek look.
