I bought this shelf from Target.com for $129 and got free shipping. It took a little longer than expected to arrive, but despite some damage to the external box all of the pieces were present and undamaged. I recommend having someone help you with the first few steps of assembling this bookcase, as it is a bit awkward to do alone. The wood is beautifully finished, which is remarkable for the price! Many other suppliers are charging this much if not more for particle board/pressed wood/veneer junk that gets dinged up easily, attracts dust, and is just plain ugly. There was a little bit of minor unevenness to the legs once I stood it up, but I am not sure if that is the bookcase or the uneven wooden floors of the old Craftsman house I live in. In any case, once I loaded up the bookcase with textbooks, nick-knacks, etc it was as solid as a rock and gorgeous. What a great buy!!!

Agree these are sturdy and good quality, but if you are buying for a specific space you should know that the bookcase is a little more than inches wide and about 18 inches deep at the widest part.
I agree with the other comments, this is a well made product and assembly was super easy (I’m 7mos pregnant and I did it by myself in no time at all). The only issue I have is that it’s listed as a walnut finish, and it’s really more of a Red Mahogany or Red Oak – it’s a pretty finish, but there is a lot of red to the color. I was looking to match a dark oak and this is nowhere near. Again, the quality is very good – real wood and heavy duty.
I ordered this shelf based on reading previous reviews and I agree with most of them. The shelf is good quality, easy to put together (I did it in less than 10 minutes) and looks really nice. A word of warning though, if you are planning on putting 8×10 vertically oriented picture frames on any of the lower shelves, they are a little too short for that.
This bookcase arrived quickly, is as easily assembled as others have said, and it’s really very attractive and sturdy. It’s perfect for a small room because it doesn’t take up much floor space. It came with all the right hardware and the tool to assemble it with, and all the screw holes were properly lined up. The only drawback was that there is a small hole in the wood near the top on the side.
