I have been using this pen, in black only, for years. Unless you need a fine line pen, you will not find a better pen anywhere. Plus its low cost makes it that much better. I have no idea how many I’ve given away to friends in the past. And they all agree it’s one of the best, if not the best, writing utensil they’ve ever used.

Whats wrong with my resume?
I’m trying to get a job at progressive insurance. I applied for a “Customer Service Representative” position. This job doesn’t need a college degree at all. 1. I used to work in a pen store that sold some high end pens including Mont Blancs. Of course this is no 500 dollar pen, but it writes like a 50-70 dollar pen. I have actually purchased a few of these pens for some friends. Great for taking notes or even fine for signing. Very minimal smearing and the ink is very pronounced (doesn’t fade away after use).

  2. This has been my all time favorite pen for many years. Like another reviewer, I nearly panicked when Office Depot stopped carrying them, so I went on line to search, and luckily found them here. I almost can’t write with any other pen, love the bold black line and easy writing. I keep several boxes at home and at work so I never risk running out. Try ‘em, you’ll love ‘em! All my customers at my shop comment on this pen when they borrow it to write a check or whatever. There is none other like it!

  3. The rolling writer from Pentel is probably the best pen I have ever used. If you do not like a thin line and prefer a bold look this pen is for you. It does not run out of ink in two days either. As I said, try it you will like it!
    loves to write

  4. I started using this pen in 1981. I only bought this pen from Office Depot, when I let someone use my pen they loved them so much that I always let them have one because I bought them by the box. In 2007 Office Depot stop carring them, I almost died, so lately I have been ordering things from Amazon, so I took a chance that this pen would be stocked, and low and behold my prayers were answered, so now I’am suppling everyone else with good pens again. Thank You Amazon

    Sincerely,

    Eileen Evon Hines

  5. I used to swear this pen was the best but was forced to change my story. This pen has a couple of major failings. Fist the ink takes some time to dry so I am constantly smearing it. Second if you bump the tip at all the ball point gets damaged and leaks everywhere. If the tip is damaged it’ll also not roll properly and write intermittently instead of a smooth consistent line. If you are using an edge to make a straight line the gel collects on the tip and will leave a blob on your paper, and also on your edge. Finally, while this pen is not a small fortune it is more expensive then my new favourite alternative the EnerGel from Pentel which is a better solution for the problems I’ve listed. When you write a letter or anything really, you should not feel the need to clean up like after you’ve been painting. This pen gets on everything even when you’re careful.

  6. I just opened a brand new package and this garbage can’t make a solid line. My son who’s trying to do his homework which involves a lot of handwriting is sooo upset right now. Both pens in the package are failing. The ink doesn’t flow smoothly and it cuts off half way in every word you’re trying to write. Very irritating, puts you in a bad mood.

  7. I cannot afford the fancier, more expensive roller-ball pens that are used for journaling and scrap-booking, so when I found these pens in Wal-mart this past Thursday, I was very impressed. The ink flows quite well for me, and since I have trouble with my penmanship (I am right-handed, but it exhausts me to write with my injured arm) the smoothness of the gel ink on thicker paper is wonderful.

I will say a few things that people should know. The ink will run if you are using the standard thin paper that most notebooks and free paper consist of. I saw a review about the ink being intermittent and then another one about it not drying. The ink is GEL, it needs a thicker paper to be used properly. You will see it through the other side of the paper because your paper is so thin. Composition notebook paper is one very inexpensive and attractive way to get the right thickness for these pens.

Also, if you push down too hard, the ink will NOT come out and will NOT flow freely. Again, this pen is GEL ink and you canNOT force it out by pushing on it like other pens. I would know, as my own handwriting is usually very harsh. I need to push down quite hard to get a pen or pencil to make a mark because of my arm. That is why I prefer gel ink- it just flows without effort.

Some other pluses to these pens is that they are refillable, the clip does not break easily, and the pens click shut. I hate caps on pens!

I personally prefer the gel ink also, because it makes my sometimes scraggly handwriting look unique- as though I am using a quill.

  8. Wonderful gel pens that are nice and easy to push around. They don’t have the scratchy feel of the 0.5’s, the grip is comfortable and the pen holds up well as I’m always carrying one around in my pocket.

  9. I was hoping to have discovered a retractable, fine-tip gel pen. I thought I had, until the first V5 pen I used began leaking and dripping ink from the tip during a workshop, and the second one leaked in my pocket, ruining my dress shirt.

  10. I really like the ink, the grip, and the fact that it’s an inexpensive refillable, but the clip sucks. I’ve damaged two shirts with this pen.

The clip has an open v at the back that causes the grief. Please fix.

Also the grip could have a better design, the place where the plastic mold gets cut is too low, should be higher up the grip, away from the little dots. Not sure that makes sense, but it makes sense to me.

  11. Rarely do I fall in love with a pen,
But I’m the Barbie and it’s my Ken.
    Okay, the analogy’s kinda gross,
But over this pen I am not morose.

Buy a few and try ‘em out,
And you’ll soon see what I’m talkin’ about.
And if the Pilot company should discover my rhyme,
Send me a free box if you drop me a line.

  12. I love this pen. When I saw this advertised on amazon, I ordered what I thought was a one dozen box of pens for $1.71. Great deal, right?
I should’ve known that it was too good to be true- they were in fact single pens I ordered. I was livid when I realized I’d spent $14 dollars on 4 pens and sent customer service an email describing the inaccuracy of what is being represented on the site and what was actually received. But Shoplet customer service sent an email with an apology for the mix up, refunded my money (including shipping and handling) and let me keep the four pens I ordered as a gesture. Fantastic customer service. I will order from them again. Pilot Precise V5 Retractable Extra Fine Point Black Rolling Ball Ink Pens, Dozen Box, 26062

  13. I have used a 10-drawer storage cart for sewing notions, thread, etc. for several years. It is so easy to roll in and out of the closet when my sewing space needs to serve as a guest bedroom. My 90-year old mother spent some time at my house last fall sewing Christmas gifts for her great grandchildren. She asked for a cart like mine for Christmas. When it arrived, we assembled it and hid it in a closet. Her gift under the tree was a big red bow and the beginning clue for a scavenger hunt to find her set of drawers. Now it seems my brother-in-law needs at least one set for his hobbies.

  14. Bins do not competely reach each side of unit so they fall off of their tracks alot. Look elsewhere for a better cart.

  15. handy cart, sturdy, and just cute! roomy enough to fit a binder inside and the rolls nice!
