The desk itself is perfect for what we wanted: clean and functional design. The packaging, however, was inadequate. The carton had busted during shipping with the result that a couple of pieces had fallen out and two edges were nicked. The construction was simple enough that we could find replacement parts in our stash of screws and knobs, and the nicks weren’t so bad as to warrant the hassle of returning the piece … but really, shipping shouldn’t be all that difficult.

help Thomasville furniture vignettes collection?
i need in fo lets say im ignorant when it comes to this brand of furniture Thomasville desk or furniture to begin with. i know this is upscale furniture true or false? i can not find any information on the vignettes collectionim looking for info on a writting desk that has ball and clawfeet any one know anythingthank you

    I did not open the box for a couple of weeks. Then when I did, I was so dissappointed to find that the front panel was broken. The part borken was part of the facing which would help support the pullout that holds the keyboard.

    I did like the color and quality of wood but you can imagine the anquish of trying to put together the big cardboard shipping box or wood glue and screw support pieces to the table. It came out alright but I would seriously reconsider ordering a piece of furniture on line again.

    Great design, good sturdy lamp. The shade is a little larger than imagined, but that works very well.

    Upon receiving the lamp, I was impressed with the box weight. It felt like something substantial was inside. I got it all put together, and that feeling slowly diminished. The ‘handle’ that goes into the top of the lamp (used for moving it for adjustment) could not be tightened enough to not wiggle. I figured I would just deal with this. I then went to tighten the knob on the base and the knob twisted right off. This was with my hand, and not because of excessive force.

    I guess I needed to spend more, but at this price I thought I would get a better made lamp of a better grade steel. Maybe I just got a bad unit, but I’m returning and not replacing with the same lamp.

    I’m giving it 3 stars because the amazon return process was so easy and pain free.

    Very easy to set up and appears sturdy. With low watt bulb, fabric shade produces warm, even light. Although it is a bit larger than I imagined, I am very happy with this lamp.

    I purchased this lamp to be a reading lamp for bed. Overall, I am not disappointed. The LEDs are not the super bright variety, but it puts off enough light by which to read.

    My one real complaint is that the goose neck is not strong enough to support its own weight. Either slowly over time or in sudden, jerky motions, the lamp “falls”. this is not catastrophic and it can be overcome with a little twisting, but it is inconvenient, which is why I did not give the lamp 4 stars.

    Overall, this is a good reading lamp and I will continue using it until the next great thing comes along.
