I have to say I spent a week researching for a lap desk. I did not want to pay $50 for one but I did want something sturdy and comfortable. I blog a lot so at home I am typically on the couch or in the chair with the laptop and needed something to set it on. I can fit my laptop and wireless mouse on it just fine. And it works when I sit cross legged or legs straight out or just sit it on the coffee table, all positions I use it in are comfortable and pretty sturdy. It’s also kept my laptop a lot cooler than it was before when I would sit it on my lap, I have no issues or the laptop burning my legs anymore or working itself to death when it gets hot. The padding is even great for the mouse to move around with, mine has not gotten hung up yet trying to move. The only issue I’ve found is the wrist padding, it seems to have small foam beads in it and typically gets deformed if I set my wrist in one spot too long. But with that type padding that’s pretty hard to avoid, just smooth it out

I have an old plastic table that I want to make into an outdoor table?
It is one of those long tables that you might see set up at fundraisers Table Spinet desk or something . you can fold up the legs so you can transport them. the legs are metal and top plastic. it probably fits about 4 on each side and one on each end. can it be an outdoor table if I paint it and stuff or will it get ruined. what would i do to make it survive outside.

  1. Only gave 3 stars because it is not a high end desk nor is the price. Product is just as I expected. Took about 40 minutes to assemble, not very hard.

  2. Easy to put together, sturdy, and looks good. Not as big as it seems in the picture but over all not bad.

  3. never order this good! never!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! i rate it one star just because otherwise they wont post my words!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! again, this is just a piece of trash, believe me!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  4. They claim price to be $18.99.
But once you add in cart, they charge around $60 for shipping and handling.
    This is really BS.

  5. I am a middle school teacher. For the past few years it is impossible to get decent pencils with our orders. Nothing sharpens well. I have been through tons of sharpeners. The ones the school ordered would sharpen nicely for about a week. But ths sharpener is great. It sharpens all the pencils, even the Walmart, Roseart brand. Great price from Amazon, too. Our school supply place had it at nearly $50.

  6. This manual pencil sharpener can be mounted on the wall i.e. vertically or on a flat surface i.e. horizontally. It is versatile in that it accepts two sizes smaller than the “standard” pencil size and five sizes larger for a total of eight sizes including the “standard”.You can use the wood screws that come with it or go to ace hardware and get really strong high quality brass woodscrews ($00.18 each) which are slightly longer and thicker to mount the sharpener. I mounted it into wood vertically on a table using the brass screws as the ones it came with looked a little too puny-although admittedly they probably would have worked.I used a manual phillips screwdriver (having purchased of course phillips head screws which I recommend) with no pre-drilling of the holes and they went in easy into pine wood and remained solidly mounted with no vibration or movement whatsoever: after perhaps sharpening the equivelant of approximately six pencils thus far from new to a nub. When sharpening I initially found some pencils off center i.e. extra wood on one side but eventually after testing using another sharpener such as my hunt boston electric sharpener came to the conclusion that there were a lot of pencils out there that didn’t have the lead centered in the wood. When using higher quality pencils such as dixon ticonderoga the lead was centered perfectly in the wood to a sharp even point. It also has a large reservoir for shavings.I purchased this from an Amazon open box seller and paid $8-$9 less than Amazon new with the same free shipping which Amazon has for over $25.00 purchases- in other words I paid $19.99 with free shipping for this item from this seller.

  7. Mounted this to a desk, and it works great! WE decided to purchase a manual sharpener after having to purchase electric ones repeatedly…Sharp blade with many sizes to fit all types of pencils/crayons. Only drawback is that it’s a bit tricky to release the container for dumping.

  8. This pencil sharpener is the one I have been wanting for years. I have used many over the years, but this one quickly sharpens to a long, centered point – without eating up the pencil. When it stops making a grinding noise, your pencil is ready. I am so, so happy to have a fine pencil sharpener that is heavy duty and works perfectly. I use #2 pencils often and other pencils for drawing.

I will not use this on colored pencils. I prefer to carefully sharpen expensive colored pencils by hand with the STAEDTLER, INC. Handheld Manual Double-Hole Cylinder Pencil Sharpener. It has two lengths to choose from for the lead. The one I own is all metal on the inside, which I find better for sharpening pencils correctly. I look in the architect areas of the office supply stores for better items such as hand-held pencil sharpeners. Although now-days they have started to place the cheaper ones there also. Don’t buy ones that look like plastic, they will not last; the plastic will crack soon.

Oh, and it is easy to dispose of the shavings also. Just rotate the center section, squeeze, and it comes loose. It reminds me of that lovely pencil sharpener we used in the 5th grade math class. Except this one is new and shiny.

  9. This night light functions good and provides enough light to read, but the blue- violet color is irritating.

  10. The product was purchased 8/23, and received in excellent condition, but not until 9/22. I WOULD, however, do business with the firm again. The product itself is exactly what I wanted, plus more, as it has some teaching tools on the back.

  11. I loved this product! I’m a college student who has to take a lot of chemistry, I hung this in my study area. It was very helpful, just like the classroom one.
