THIS IS A GOOD ATLAS EXCEPT FOR THE PORTION FOR MEXICO. IT HAS ONLY 2 PAGES FOR ALL OF MEXICO AND NO DETAIL MAPS. I AM MAKING A TRIP TO MEXICO AND I WILL HAVE TO BUY ANOTHER ATLAS TO GET ENOUGH DETAIL TO BE USEFUL.

I would agree with Michael W. Savchak about the bulb. I read up on this lamp first then went to the web looking for a PL-27 bulb and could only find it is a “type” of bulb and had no information as to the wattage output. So I went to Home Depot who has only Phillips lamps (bulbs) and I found a few that fit the PL-27 series descriptions but 3 choices of wattages. So, combining the info listed by Amazon (most accurate) and the manufacturer (not very) I made a purchase and got my lamp product yesturday.
It is a very nice design, I love that part however, the output is restricted to 13 watts only. It is ok but it does not put out any 150 watt intensitiy (lumens). My 50 watt halogen lamp does better but with a lot more heat (the main reason for this purchase anyway). Overall, this is exactly what it looks like in the photo but the output is a 13 watt lamp and the fixture says Max 13 watt bulb only.
Also, in surfing the web I found that there are two types of lamp fixtures dealing with fluorescent bulbs, one has the transformer (ballast) in the fixture and the other type the ballast is integrated in the lamp bulb base. The later is the new design with less noise or static on electric circuits. This unit is not noisy but the ballast is part of the fixture base.
Now you know the full story. Still a good buy.
This is not the product which was advertised. The lamp is a 13 watt PL bulb-which at best is equivalent to a 50 watt incandescent lamp. there is no instant start feature-the lamp has a built in starter which flickers and flashes for a few seconds. Any one who is looking for at least 100 Watt output should look elsewhere.
I just bought this lamp for $29.99 at my local Alco store, and it is great. I am a jewelry designer and maker, and really needed a small, powerful, moveable full-spectum lamp to do my work, especially at night. This lamp met every requirement I had, and even has an adjustable gooseneck and a very long 4-light bulb that illuminates a larger work area than most desk lamps.
The replacement bulb is expensive ($13-15), but is supposed to last several times longer and use less electricity than regular light bulbs, which hopefully will offset this higher up-front bulb cost.
Thanks to this lamp, I am making jewelry without squinting and eye strain for the first time in a long time.
This lamp is a nice decorative fluorescent unit, suitable for a student desk or other such purpose. It doesn’t look “industrial” yet has the functional advantages and cool operation of a low-wattage compact fluorecsent lamp. It is fairly rugged and has on on-off switch on the bottom side of the lamp head. The arm is flexible.
I hate this about a lot of pressed board furniture: the pre-drilled holes are not in the right place and the drawers and doors are all crooked when you’re finished.
It looks sloppy. The door is the only straight piece on this because it can be adjusted with the hinges.
The keyboard tray slides out very easily which is sometimes not so with this type of furniture. It is a beautiful color and would look awesome if the drawers weren’t so crooked.
It’s very solid, doesn’t wobbly at all and has just the right amount of storage space. It has a nice thin 2 shelf system above the filing cabinet section that is perfect for routers, cable modems & other small devices to be placed and free up desk/floor space.
Next time I will be spending more for real wood furniture with STRAIGHT drawers. But for the price, this serves it’s purpose well.
This desk came to me in beautiful condition. Putting it together required some muscle, but was not too difficult. It took about two hours total. I love my desk and say it is definitely worth the buy!
I felt this product was a great product for the money. Assemby does take a few hours, but the product looks beautiful when completed. I did not find any issues with pieces being damaged during shipping. I did not have an issue with the desk being crooked when put together, of course, my husband assembled the desk, and is an engineer by trade. He said pieces were easily labeld, he had no issues with assembly. Product is easily scratched, but for adults I find it to be fine. Customer provided very fast shipping. I would recommend this product and this seller.
