Free Supportive Hints On Mahogany Federal

Best price and perfect for my use as a solid base for my sewing/embroidery machines which need to be kept stable. Can be put together by an amateur like me.

How can I determine the value of my 1940’s mahogany buffet?
I have pictures available. It looks like this federal style buffet, mahogany Federal except the bottom is straight (no legs or feet): http://www.rubylane.com/shops/harpgallery/item/W-S1615 . The buffet drawers are in excellent shape and have all their hardware. The two doors are missing their knobs. And the top needs to be refinished.

  1. This printer stand looks great, is well made and holds a lot of paper. I use one the top left slot for new paper, the top right slot for paper that I am going to use again (to print on both sides) and the bottom slot for empty file folders and a reference book.

The extra slots keep my supplies within arms reach, neat and organized. The cost was reasonable, a good value. Shipping was timely, the stand arrived a couple of days earlier than promised.

  2. Very nice printer stand! You will be happy with this purchase. Very sturdy build and will accomadate most home desktop printers.

  3. The finish gives this stand a classy look. It is, however, a pretty big (wide and deep) piece so make sure you have enough room on your desk. The paper slots are decent, but I tried using them for envelopes and that didn’t really work. But overall, it’s doing the job just fine.

  4. Good space saver printer stand, great value. I needed a low stand for my huge printer and this worked perfect, and it also looks very nice.
The only problem I had was that there was a chip on one of the corners, but since the chip is on the back corner I didn’t want to bother with the hassle of the exchange process. Other that this, a very good product.

  5. This computer table was much better than I expected. Nice stainless steel hardware, easy to assemble and very sturdy. I was very pleased with the overall quality and value.

  6. This desk looks great and has alot of desktop space. Just received it last night and it was very easy to install. Took me over 3 hours but I was doing it by myself and decided not to use an electric screwdriver to prevent overtightened screws or damages, yes call me cautious :P

Anyway, the thing that impressed me from beginning to end for the installation was the well packaged parts and especially very well-labeled parts leading to major ease of installation. The instruction manual is very well-detailed and points out exactly which part number and screw number to use at each step. Very idiot-proof in my opinion. All pieces arrived in great condition. The keyboard plank had a minor scratch on the rear surface but nothing to really upset me about. One screw did not have its head indented properly so I couldn’t use the Phillips screwdriver but thank goodness a bag of spare screws was included for each of the approximate 8 screw types. This is a nice luxury I rarely see other manufacturers provide.

My only other gripes about this desk are that:

    1) The corner surface’s single straight leg support seems to fall a little short. Maybe it’s my uneven floorboards but I had to untwist the leveling wheel to its maximum support distance.

    2) The 4 front legs also tend to be a bit sharp. During shipment they are covered by a black plastic sheath/protector. I usually wear slippers at home but I plan to drill holes into the sheaths and re-insert them before screwing the circular feet back in so that I would not accidentally cut my toes or feet when moving about at the desk. They should have made the plastic sheaths gray with openings at the bottom to let use simply attach the table feet right into the legs.

All in all still an excellent product and willing to give it 5 stars.

  7. I actually purchased this desk directly from [...] (through Amazon.com) because it was about $20.00 cheaper. The desk is pretty solid and enough space for all of my computer peripherals and more. It took a little over an hour to assemble myself, but would have likely easier with an additional pair if hands.

I was worried that the bolts would be cheap aluminum, as I have experienced with other desks, but to my surprise everything was solid.
