What do you think of the 1st chapter of my story?
This is a very rough draft of the 1st chapter of my story. I would love to hear your thoughts. Any advice of tips would be appreciated. I prefer harsh criticism As I walk in the class, I feel the stare of everyone in the room. Their eyes bore into me, yet I feel completely unaffected, numb. The loud noise of my classmates is a buzzing in my ear. I hear the teacher introduce me.”Class, this is Eve Andrews, she will be joining us from now on.”Feeling the glares of my classmates as I walk past them to the only empty seat left in the room. I feel a distinctive hostility towards me. Several people stick their feet out in an effort to trip me on the way. A good kick in the shin to the first person, dissuades most of the rest from trying. Finally reaching my seat, I sit down and pull out the English textbook . A noise at my right catches my attention. “Hey”Ignoring, the unprompted greeting by shoving my ipod headphones in my ears, I cast my eyes to the front of the class, where the teacher has started the lesson. “Hey!”Seeing my classmates turn in my direction, I slouch down in my seat a little, wishing their attention could go back to the teacher. Wrapping myself further into desk Chair Sweet my cocoon of numbness, a sudden grabbing of my arm, turns my head in the direction of the noise from before. “Hey, I’m talking to you.” As this unknown boy grips my arm tighter, I reach with my free hand to pull out my ear buds. Giving the boy, a quick appraisal I note that he is rather handsome — in his own way. He has slanted eyes that are the exact color of moss. He has long, luxurious, ebony hair. His physique, what I can see of it is rather lean, but at the same time quite muscular. He is wearing faded jeans that hug the muscles of his thighs, a pair of ratty sneakers, and a cropped, tight shirt. He must have gotten his overinflated ego from all the airheaded girls, who must flock to him. I look back down to where the boy has tightened his grip on my arm even more. If I let this continue I will start to lose feeling in my arm. I take the pencil that’s laying on my desk and jab it right into the meaty back part of his hand. Letting out a roar of pain the boy jumps up from his desk.”What’s, going on here!?”Seems like the teacher has finally clued in.”You know the punishment for fighting.”As if to back up his warning both mine and the unknown boy’s bracelets let off a small shock.The boy seemingly unaffected by the shock, remains standing, clenching his fists.I on the other hand not wanting another shock, turn to the boy, and off him a sweet smile.”Hi, I’m Eve, and you are? Seeming completely baffled by my sudden turn in attitude. The boy stares at me, him hands slowly unclenching. ” Your name,” I prompt him, flashing him another smile.”Uh, Damien” the boy says as he finally sits down in his chair. The teacher now seemingly satisfied that we weren’t going to kill each other, turns back to his lesson.”What was up with you before?” Damien asks as I’m about to put my headphones back on.Really no wanting to have to continue talking with this guy but knowing that he’ll probably cause another ruckus, I turn to him.”What,” I say lifting an eyebrow, my tone dripping with sarcasm ” You don’t like the way I ignore you.”Damien his face a mask of shocked disbelief gapes at me, very much like a fish left out of water too long.Turning back to the front and turning my ipod up full blast I think, great, he is supposedly to be one of the dangerous students that I was kidnapped to help control. Seems more like a stuck up pretty boy. Dangerous my ass. Little did I know I would soon be eating my words.sure, as soon as I’m done i’ll put up a link.
