I like the feel of the chair but it wasn’t built for longterm use. Meaning, you can’t seat in it for too long without have some kind of back issues. The chair feels comfortable at first but the longer you sit, the more you try to reposition yourself to get comfortable.
I am writing a story, what do you think so far?
This is the first story I have wrote in a long time, I used to write loads. Please give me your opinion, what should be changed ect.
Chapter 1:A tall slim man pulled on a pair of smart leather gloves, the door of the car opened, he climbed out. The man nodded curtly at the driver who shut the door behind him, the driver smiled grimly and clambered back inside. The tall man looked around, seeing that there was no one around he walked over to the library, he pushed open the door and went inside. The receptionist looked up as he walked in; she closed her book and set it aside.‘Can I help you?’ she called politely, the man walked over to her. ‘Yes, I think you can,’ he replied in a low voice. The receptionist shifted uncomfortably. ‘I assume you are looking for a book?’ she asked. The man shook his head. ‘Well then…what are you after?’ the receptionist swiveled round on her chair and pulled a dark blue file of the shelves. She set it down on the desk and looked at him expectantly. ‘I need to know whether a certain man has been in here,’ he pulled off his leather gloves and stuffed them in his pocket. The receptionist looked confused. ‘Who is it you are looking for?’ she asked. The man pulled a picture out of his pocket and passed it to her. ‘That man…has he been here?’ he asked quietly pointing at the picture. The receptionist looked down at the photo. An old man with frizzy white hair stared back at her. She shuddered and passed the photo back.‘You know him?’ the man slid the photo back in his pocket. The receptionist rapped her nails on the desk.‘Not really, he comes for a book every so often but that is it,’ the receptionist opened the blue file and pulled out a form. ‘Would you like to join the library? Then you can take books out, just fill that in and bring it back to me,’ the receptionist passed him the form. The man thumped his fist on the desk angrily, the receptionist jumped. ‘Just tell me whether that man has been in here!’ the man growled. The receptionist nodded her head and pointed to a table in the far corner. ‘He was here about ten minutes ago…who are you? What do you want?’ the receptionist squeaked nervously. The man nodded his head thoughtfully. He strode over to the table which she had pointed at then sat down. There was a dark bed book on the table. He picked it up and read the title. A Guide to CodesThe man gasped then opened the book. He flipped through the pages; a small envelope fell out onto the table. He dropped the book and snatched up the envelope. The man jumped up from the table and quickly strode over to the doors. He hurried out into the cold morning air. The driver saw him coming and quickly opened the door. ‘I need to walk,’ the man said to him as he hurried past. He kept walking until he reached a bench. Sitting down he opened the envelope, he slid his hand in and pulled out the contents. He stuffed the envelope in his pocket then read the letter. Dear Richard Smith,As you know from our previous meeting I want you to make someone disappear…which I know you are quite experienced in doing. The person I want you to assassinate is Kayla Johnson, my niece. She has information so important that Swivel Leather desk if the Police find it then I shall be banged up for life. She works at the school across the road from the Library. The school bell goes at 3.20pm, which is when all the children come out. The teachers usually leave around 3.45pm. Kayla will have her daughter with her. Do not harm her daughter. If you do then there will be no payment.Yours,G. WalkerRichard stuffed the letter in his pocket and stood up. He hurried across the road to the school. He pushed the gate open and walked through the playground to the school. Walking over to the office he rapped on the door. ‘Come in,’ a voice called. He opened the door and went inside. ‘Can I help you?’ the headmaster asked. Richard looked him up and down. He looked like he was in his late forties, with dark blonde hair; he wore a muddy-brown suit. Richard snorted and sat down in an empty chair. The headmaster looked at him peculiarly.‘What are you looking at?’ Richard asked quietly. The headmaster sat down in his chair. ‘What business do you have here?’ the headmaster asked. Richard stared at him. The headmaster shifted around in his chair. ‘Does a Miss Kayla Johnson work here?’ Richard spoke quietly as though not wishing to be overheard. The headmaster frowned.‘Yes…why do you want to know that?’ he replied quickly. Richard shook his head and stood up. He strode over to the door and flung it open. He hurried from the school; he walked along the path until he reached a bush, hiding in its shadow, he pulled a mobile phone from his pocket and dialed a number. ‘Hello?’ a voice answered. ‘Have my gear ready, I need it tonight at three,’ Richard replied. ‘Righty ho, where d’you want it put?’ the voice replied. ‘Just keep it with you, I will collect,’ Richard slammed the phone shuI don’t see any spelling mistakes? where are they please?it cut off the rest of the chapter here it is:Richard slammed the phone shut and stuffed it in his pocket. He turned and hastily walked up the street and out of sight.***A slim woman picked up a pile of worksheets from her desk; she marched over to the door.‘All right then, I want you to collect your homework sheet from me before you leave,’ she said loudly to the classroom full of children, ‘No rushing please!’ she cried as the children stampeded past her grabbing sheets of paper off her as they went. The woman sighed as the last kid ran past her, she turned back into the room and sat down at her desk, pulling the lid off a pen she set to marking a big pile of work. ***A group of girls walked down the corridor chattering excitedly, one girl walked away from the rest, her nose in a book. She had brown hair with soft almond shaped eyes. One of the girls in the group looked round at her.‘Come on Sophie!’ she called. The girl looked up from her book and sighed.Putting her book in her bag she walked over to the rest of the group. The girl who had called her over grinned and passed her a bit of gum. Sophie popped it into her mouth.‘Thanks, what are you doing after school?’ she asked, the other girl laughed and flipped her long hair out of her eyes.‘What do you think? Looking after my boring brothers again…want to come over to my place and help?’ Sophie shook her head gently.‘Sorry Jasmine, I promised mum I would help make tea,’ Jasmine nodded her head glumly. ‘I have to go meet my mum, see you on Monday,’ Sophie said to the group, she turned around and walked back the way they had come. She opened the classroom door and went in. The slim woman looked up at her.‘Oh hey honey, give me one minute and they I’ll be ready,’ the woman looked back down at her desk again and carried on shuffling papers into various piles. Sophie walked over to one of the tables and sat down on it. She pulled her book from her bag and started reading againThe lady looked over at her, a small smile playing on her lips. She reached down and grabbed her bag. ‘Come on then Sophie, I’m ready,’ she walked over to her daughter and took the book from her hands. She flipped it over and read the cover:Pride and PrejudiceBy Jane AustenShe passed the book back to Sophie and then headed for the door; Sophie slipped down from the table and hurried after her, stuffing her book in her bag as she went. Sophie slid her hand into her mothers once she had caught up with her. ‘What are we having for tea then?’ she asked, holding her breath in anticipation. Her mum laughed and ruffled her hair.‘Relax! Don’t worry, I am not going to attempt anything new,’ her mum replied, ‘I thought we could go out for a pizza or something like that?’ Sophie smiled happily.‘Yeah! That would be great mum,’ they both walked down the corridor. A man poked his head around a classroom door. ‘Hey Kayla, are you off already?’ he asked, surprise in his voice. ‘‘Yes, I thought I would head off early and do my marking at home, me and Sophie are going out for tea,’ Sophie’s mum replied cheerfully. The other teacher nodded his head.‘Oh, have fun then,’ he pulled his head back inside and shut the door. Kayla jumped as the door shut. She pulled Sophie’s hand and they walked through the hall. ‘What’s gotten into him?’ Kayla muttered under her breath as the walked passed the reception. Sophie smiled at the receptionist as the stepped out into the bright light. ***Richard Smith laid low on the roof of a building opposite the school. ‘It had been easy to get onto the roof, too easy’ he thought as he pieced together the sniper rifle in front of him, he looked around him warily. He clipped the last piece into place then knelt up hoisting the sniper with him. He put his eye to the aim and focused. He watched the doors of the school through the aim. The doors swung open and a tall woman with a younger girl beside her walked out.He took aim, balancing the crosshairs on the woman’s chest. His finger curled around the trigger, one little flick of his finger and the woman would crumple, never to stir again. Richard shook his head and focused on the job. He preferred to think of his target as ‘The Target’ instead of thinking of their name. It made it easier to pull the trigger. He refocused the crosshairs as his target moved. One, Two, Three, his finger tightened on the trigger and pulled, the gun jolted against hid body, an evil grin spread across his face as he watched the woman crumple and hit the ground.its long, i know, but thats the first chapter, what do u think??Sara – Wow! Yeah, I didn’t think about any of that ! Thanks so much
