Setting Up A Household From Stratch?
My boyfriend and I are moving in together at the end of the year. Right now, we don’t have a place, because we plan on renting. But, we’ll be setting our household up from the bottom.I live with my parents and I have a bedroom set (headboard, frame, mattress, boxspring, dresser, nightstand, mirror–all a matching set) I also have a very nice computer desk. I have a TV, a DVD desk Nightstand End player and a laptop.Nothing in his bachelor pad apartment is salvagable. His bed’s going in the trash. So, he’s bring a TV, a DVD player and his laptop. No living room stuff, that belongs to his roommate.Of course, we have our clothes, healthy items/beauty needs, personal items (like pictures, etc)But, we don’t have anything else. We’ll have no kitchenware, no towels/bath stuff, etcHow far inadvance should I start buying stuff and how should I go about accquiring things we need. How far in advance should I start shopping and how much money should I save up.We’ll also need a kitchen table and at least a sofa and TV stand. But, that’s a seperate budget.Fred-we’re getting engaged and married. I also don’t do used things, it’s a personal thing. I could issues with using someone else’s stuff, especially if I don’t know them.
