I had purchased bells like this in a quaint New England hardware store 24 years ago. I have had so many friends ask where to buy them and was never able to find anything like them….until now. These bells are EXACTLY like my original ones. They have a wonderful, happy sound as soon as my front door is opened. This nice part is I can be anywhere in the house and if anyone opens or tries to open my door, I hear it. They make for an unusual gift as well.

What is the best way to remove scratches from an antique desk?
I antiques desks don’t want to hurt the value any more, the scratches are not deep (just on the surface) but really long. The wood is dark.

I , too thought this would be a little bigger, but it fits the description. The three long vertical spaces are good for scissors, pens, etc. The two top wells are great for paper clips and other small items. But the six swing-out storage bins are small in width/length and very shallow. I could not find anything to put in them. Everything I needed to have handy was either too long or too tall to fit. I ordered another desk caddy that is a bit larger and has larger bins. I’ll use this one someplace, but it is not very useful if you want someting to keep all of your supplies at hand on your desktop.

Idea on how to turn my desk into a vanity?
Well, I don’t use a lot of make-up at the moment, mostly special occasion, but when I get older I’m sure I’m gonna use it a little more frequently. Also I have Top desk Drawer to share the bathroom, so I can’t take a lot of time in there, which is more of the reason for that. But anyway I have a glass top desk with a little metal keyboard or notebook drawer shelf that slides out, and a smaller printer desk that is also glass top and has a shelf that is as big as it is on the bottom, where I would store school books, but I don’t really use it for that. Suggestions please?

vintage/hollywood/pop art themed bedroom?

So far, it seems to be a fairly well-built chair. However, the seat cushion is not very comfortable. After about an hour of sitting in it, my “bum” aches!!! Wouldn’t recommend it if you have to work in this chair for 8-10 hours a day. It is good for short periods of sitting only.
